Mobile therapist insurance

Hi all

Today's blog is a very serious one.

I know I'm fairly new to the industry but from the very beginning I had very specific ideas as to how I wanted to conduct my business. I wanted to train somewhere that provided worldwide recognised qualifications, and I wanted to be insured by a professional beauty insurer. This is not only because I wanted to provide the best sevice to my clients, it was to protect myself and my clients against any unfortunate mishaps that may occur.

This may shock you to learn that in the UK a massive 1/4 of  beauty professionals are operating without insurance. A poll taken by BABTAC revealed that 26% of therapists admitted to not having valid insurance and 34% of those had never been insured. And this is just in the UK I dread to think of the amount of people around the world that are operating in the same way.

What are we doing ? It is equally as important to protect yourself from the hefty costs of a claim as well as the clients you serve. They need to be confident that if something were to go very wrong they can persue a claim for compensation. I feel that this is so risky to be operating without valid insurance. It is so inexpensive considering the value you get as well as the peace of mind that you are protected. My insurance is with The Guild Of Beauty Therapists, it costs me £85 per year for full membership, I recieve a bi-monthly magazine keeping me up to date with new trends and treatments as well as suppliers, you can also put your name on the professional beauty register and they keep you informed of job oppertunities and beauty stuff for sale.

Surely the risk far out weighs the cost whether you  do tanning or nails or have a full repertoire of treatments under your belt.

PROTECT YOURSELF AND YOUR CLIENTS GET INSURED

Lots Of Love
